Dr. Robert Baldwin, a member of our Board of Advisors, will be presenting a poster presentation at the 4th World Congress to Abolish the Death Penalty in Geneva, Switzerland Feb. 24-26, 2010.  Baldwin’s presentation is entitled, “Justice: Dead and Denied in the Heart of Dixie,” and highlights the grievous injustices in the Alabama death penalty system, including race and social status bias, judicial overrides of LWOP to death, no state-funded public defender system, politically elected judges, and other factors.  He hopes that greater international attention can be drawn to Alabama, which is known as “one of the worst” states with regard to its death penalty system.
